What a good analytics export looks like

Exports should be portable records that another person can understand without needing your dashboard open beside them.

An open report with a clean chart and a small image panel

The short version

An export is part of the analytics product surface. It may become a planning input, a finance attachment, or the record that explains why a decision was made.

Include the reporting window, timezone, filters, units, and a short description of each column. A clean CSV or JSON file is more useful than a beautiful export that hides its assumptions.

Portability is also a form of trust. Teams should be able to leave a tool with their records intact and legible.
