Privacy by default starts at event collection
Privacy is easier to maintain when the collection path removes unnecessary detail before it reaches storage.
The short version
A policy document can say what a system should do. The collection path determines what the system is actually capable of keeping.
Strip unnecessary identifiers early, avoid storing raw query details by default, and make retention a property of the data model rather than a future cleanup project.
These choices make privacy simpler to explain because the product does not depend on a hidden promise that someone will delete the trail later.
