A better way to read referrers

Referrer data is most useful when it explains an entry point without pretending to explain a person.

The short version

A referrer tells you where a visit came from. It does not tell you why that person arrived, what they believe, or whether they belong to a profile you can follow.

Group referrers into useful sources, preserve campaign parameters when they are present, and keep the reporting surface close to the decision it supports.

The best source report is not the longest one. It is the one that helps a team decide where to explain, publish, or invest next.
